Position Description Research, analyze and recommend packaging policies and regulations. Provide packaging recommendations for deployments, redeployments, left behind equipment, retrograde operations, Army Wood Packaging Material Program, and Army Single Stock Fund Program. Research, analyze and provide recommendations related to Army packaging policies consistent with and effecting overall DoD policy, and provide comprehensive guidance and technical guidance for worldwide Army activities at various logistics levels. Provide policy recommendations and instructions for packaging hotline inquires and technical guidance requests, and interface with other disciplines including maintenance, acquisition, transportation and environmental management. Furnish advice and provide recommendations to Army and other DoD components relative to unique preservation and packaging activities. Conduct evaluations at packaging facilities in the field at CONUS and OCONUS Army installations, National Guard Bureau, and contractor facilities. Assess/review materials and equipment on hand, packaging procedures, practices in use, training and overall efficiency of the packaging operation and provide guidance and recommendations for improvements. Inspect field packaging facilities to determine compliance with the Wood Packing Material (WPM) program. Provide site certification instruction and audit procedure instruction during assessment/guidance visits to ensure Army compliance with the WPM program. Attend, provide recommendations, develop information/point papers, conduct briefings and make presentations at workshops with higher headquarters, other services and agencies, troop installations, depot activities, and packaging organizations.
Position Requirements Four or more years of experience in logistics support of US Army supported systems. Advanced degree, a Bachelor?s degree with at least six years relevant experience, or Associate degree with eight years relevant experience or high school degree with 15 years relevant experience. Working knowledge of AR 700-15 (Packaging of Materiel) and DA PAM 700-32 (Packaging of Army Materiel). Proficient in Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, and Power Point.
