POSITION SUMMARY This position reports to the Senior Associate Director of Training & Employee Development with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Associate Director of Service & Maintenance. The incumbent will conduct training courses to train employees in pool service, programming, safety, maintenance and repair of swimming pools and related equipment, including pool heaters. The Manager of Technical Training will also facilitate or coordinate the facilitation of the career path classes for Tech 1, Tech 2, and Tech 3. Additionally, this position will provide on-going quality control by means of follow up field visits with 1:1 training and coaching at the job site. The Manager of technical Training will also be required to maintain or obtain APSP certification as a CSP-Certified Service Professional. Administrative responsibilities will include keeping training materials and manuals updated, developing and disseminating monthly training calendars and keeping track of class attendance. Other administrative duties related to the training function will be assigned as Manager of Technical Training will be responsible for the year-round upkeep of the training center, supplies and equipment. Ongoing requirements include staying up to date with industry changes and maintaining certification requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Confers with management to determine training needs. · Assists in writing training programs and designing laboratory exercises. · Lectures classes on safety, service, programming, maintenance and repair of swimming pools following outline, handouts and text book. · Demonstrates procedures being taught such as cleaning, chemicalizing and programming. · Observes trainees in practice and answers trainees' questions. · Administers practical and written exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance. · Provide input into employee "potential" forecast and quality of hires. · Administers phase 2 ( post classroom) training for new hires using "Phase 2 I.T.P." ( Individual Training Plan). · Supports/ reinforces proper procedures by being present at morning sign out and answering any technical questions prior to service tech leaving the yard. · Provides follow up training for service techs in the field, by coaching and assessing skills. · Records daily field follow up visits on "Performance Assessment Spot Check" form, reviews with appropriate Field Manager and send copy to Southampton for employees permanent file. · Recommends retraining/re-certification needs to Sr. Associate Director Training & Employee Development. · Facilitates internal certification program classes for Tech 1, Tech 2, and Tech 3. · Facilitates CPO certification class for both internal and external customers. · Assists with the facilitation of other classes as requested
Assists with coordinating the training activities of the organization.
· Formats and disseminates the monthly training calendar. · Records quiz and test results for each class into excel worksheets. · Administers post-class surveys; reviews with S.A.D. to determine student satisfaction. · Formats and presents training certificates as required. · Participate in meetings, seminars and training sessions to obtain information useful to training facility and integrates information into training program. · Provides input for Service tech performance reviews. · Assists in testing new products/ procedures. · Assists with the development and training needs of the "Pool Equipment Repair Center".

Job Requirements
Education:Bachelor's degree from 4 year university or 1-2 years related experience and/ or training. Degree or coursework in education or adult learning a plus. Experience:Certified C.P.O., Certified C.P.O. CMT, CST, CSP. Basic knowledge of pool heaters and pool construction a plus. Other Skills: · Language skills- Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating procedures and equipment manuals. · Computer skills- Proficiency in Outlook, Word a must. Working knowledge of Excel a plus. · Presentation skills- Can present new information to a varied audience in a professional and cohesive manner. · Teaching Skills- Understands and utilizes differences in learning styles and accommodates differences by varying teaching methods.
