About the Chapter Established in 1982, the Alzheimer's Association, Aloha Chapter provides community education, care and support for people with Alzheimers disease and their families. The Chapter serves all of the Hawaiian Islands where an estimated 28,000 people are living with this disease. Alzheimer's and related dementia is an emerging issue as our states population ages and more and more kupuna develop the disease. This position is tremendously varied and offers diversified skills building, as well as challenging and rewarding opportunities to offer direct client intervention, and health education. In support of our mission to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health, the chapter is seeking a strategic thinker and leader with strong organizational management skills. The successful candidate understands the intersection between communications, policy and direct service delivery and must have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for helping people, as well as a proven track record of developing, managing and implementing program strategies and performance-based contracts. Integral to this position is the ability to build relationships, serve as a partner with internal and external stakeholders and engage members of our diverse community in the movement to eliminate Alzheimers disease and provide much needed support to caregivers. Job Description: The Program Director provides management level leadership and direction, oversight, execution and monitoring of a diversified comprehensive Aloha Chapter program plan that is aligned with the Associations strategic plan. The Program Director is responsible for the supervision of all Aloha Chapter social service program staff and volunteers, and ensures that best practice, evidence-based direct service programs are designed and implemented to best serve our local island communities. Responsibilities: Provide management level leadership for the development and oversight of all Chapter programs and services, including planning, budgeting and program evaluation. Work with the Executive Director/CEO and the Director of Development to create and support a fund development plan for all Chapter social service programs and to provide ongoing information and support to secure funding and effectively report to funding institutions. Responsible for the recruitment, training, supervision and mentoring/coaching of Chapter program staff, volunteers and interns. Represent the Association at public events, conferences, workshops and media events as needed. Manage on-going community needs assessment and adapt or design programs in response to identified needs, as aligned with Chapter Strategic Plan. Develops strong internal and external relationships to advance the mission of the Alzheimers Association, Aloha Chapter. Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess a Masters degree in social work, human services, gerontology, or a related field, LCSW preferred. 3-5 years of leadership experience in program administration including needs assessment, strategic program development, service delivery, management and evaluation. Proven strategic planning and direct implementation track record. Proven project management and staff management experience. Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills in positions requiring communication with a broad and diverse audience.
