Position Opening: Human Resources Generalist Salary range: $35,000 - $45,000 Reports to: Executive Director CDSAs Human Resource Generalist The HR Generalist administers human resource functions including benefits management, policies and procedures, Employment Law compliance, and maintains employee files for our agency. The role calls for up-to-date compliance with current local, state and federal employment law. This position reports to the Executive Director. About Our Organization: Established in Seattle in 1977, Community Day School Association (CDSA) is a non-profit affordable child enrichment program integrated within Seattle Public Schools. Our before- and after-school and pre-kindergarten program nurtures the intellectual, physical and social aspects of a diverse community of students. We seek a creative, energetic, and dedicated individual who shares our passion for making tomorrow better by growing success in school, and enriching children's lives with our 'whole child' approach. Compensation includes Medical/Dental/Vision, Short and Long Term Disability, Life Insurance and Simple IRA benefits as well as 13 Paid Holidays and 10 PLT days and a Salary from $35,000 - 45,000/per year depending on qualifications. Responsibilities Human Resources Generalist 40 hours per week Handles Human Resources correspondence Assists with all elements of the hiring process, including resume and applicant tracking and file maintenance Conducts new employee orientation and creates new employee records Maintains employee files and information records, both paper and electronic Oversees compliance with all applicable federal state and local employment laws Acts as liaison for unemployment and worker compensation records and claims Coordinates all aspects of employee benefit plans, including health and welfare, retirement and COBRA plans Assists in maintaining current and effective compensation program Tracks employee leaves and facilitates leave programs Assists in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures Composes and maintains Employee Handbook to reflect current Personnel Policies and Procedures Assists in coordination of Training and Professional Development programs Facilitates employee exit interview process and reports data Assists with Human Resources and Operations projects as assigned Experience & Education B.A. in HR Management or related area, or combination of equivalent experience Demonstrates proficiency in information technology systems and basic web site maintenance. Five or more years experience in a Management capacity Proficiency in MS Office systems, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook Experience working with children or in educational field preferred Professional in Human Resources (PHR) strongly preferred Required Skills Outstanding organizational and time management skills Accurate and attentive to detail Problem-solves, prioritizes, and works well independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills within our staff team, as well as by phone with the public. Maintains high degree of confidentiality, and handles sensitive information appropriately Supports organizations policies and procedures in all communications Shares a goal to advance our mission and expand service to the demographic we serve.
