The Managing Partner (Consulting) – Commercial position will be charged with building, both individually and as part of a team, business in a portfolio of commercial accounts. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of the business issues challenging senior executives in the account portfolio and ability to sell and deliver IT management consulting solutions to address these business issues. The ideal candidate will possess an unquestionable work ethic with a hands-on management approach defined by resiliency, team spirit and character. The ideal candidate is a visionary and strategic thinker seen by their peers as an influential leader with the ability to attract, develop, lead and retain talent.
              
Detailed Description 
       
      
       Leads 3 to 5 major commercial accounts, establishing executive level relationships to influence strategic initiatives and pre-position Gartner on all relevant opportunities

       Develops and effectively execute account planning methodology in assigned accounts

       Articulates the unique capabilities and value added services that differentiate Gartner Consulting as the leading IT strategy solutions provider

       Understands the respective industries of assigned accounts (accounts can be in any commercial industry; our key commercial sector industries include High Technology & Telecom, Healthcare, Financial Services, and Energy & Utilities)

       Leads pursuit development efforts

       Leads consulting delivery for multiple projects, providing oversight and coaching to ensure project delivery success

       Manages engagements at or above Gross Margin target while taking the necessary steps to mitigate risks

       Provides coaching and mentoring to account team members and trains team members in organizational, business, and technical skills

       Cultivates and leverage internal relationships (sales, research, benchmarking, operations, legal, etc.)

       Actively contributes to strengthening current solutions or developing new solutions

        
Job Requirements        
       
Job Qualifications: 


       10-15 years experience in IT strategy consulting (ideally with a Tier 1 Management Consultancy)

       Demonstrated success gaining and sustaining executive relationships as a trusted business advisor

       Understands the business and economics of management consulting

       Demonstrated ability to sell and lead delivery of complex engagements

       Deep experience in one or more of Gartner Consulting service areas

       Track record of consistently achieving consulting quotas/targets (bookings, engagement revenue, personal utilization and gross margin)

       Proactive, “hands-on” experience in proposal development, engagement management support and client interaction

       Strong presentation and written communications skills at an executive level

       Strong judgment in appropriate project intervention

       Bachelor's degree in business, information technology or a related field is required.  Advanced degree preferred
