Position Summary: Marketing and Communications Associate
The National Council on Aging (NCOA) () seeks a Marketing & Communications Associate to join our staff on a full-time basis. This person will work as part of the Shared Services Division, collaborate with a variety of Shared Services and NCOA program staff, and will report to the Director of Marketing & Communications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Marketing and Communications Associate: * Participate in strategy and creative development as part of NCOA-wide and program outreach and campaigns. * Serve as member of multiple project teams within Shared Services and throughout the organization, including NCOA’s contractors. * Write and edit press releases and other print/electronic materials to promote the organization. * Assist the Senior Vice President with monthly reports and meeting preparation, planning, and follow up. * Develop stories about NCOA projects and people in support of organization Web sites, print products, branding and serve as a primary visual content (photo and video) developer for the organization. * Develop and maintain a well organized photo, video and story archive, including the management of stock photo resources. * Provide administrative support to Strategic Marketing and Communications, as needed. * Performs other duties as assigned as necessary.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills Required for a Successful Marketing and Communications Associate: * Bachelor’s degree * Outstanding writing/communication skills for promotional, editorial and educational purposes. * Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills. * Ability to work both autonomously and within a variety of teams. * Minimum of two years experience in journalism, photography, videography and documentary production, preferably within the nonprofit, health or public sectors. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of new media, ability to edit and produce high quality video products. * Strong and demonstrated commitment to public, nonprofit or community service.

Requires the ability to speak, see, hear, and use hands to operate standard business equipment including computers, fax machines, cameras, and video equipment. May require some travel and the ability to drive.
