We are currently seeking a Marketing Specialist I.The individual in this position is to be located in Columbus, Ohio.
As a Marketing Specialist I in the National Security Global Business, the selected individual will be responsible for the development and sale of contract research for Battelle.
Provides sales plan for customer calls/visits.Performs research using open source information including the customer website and reviews past interactions with Battelle.Analyzes and summarizes findings. Identifies appropriate Battelle technical staff for call/visit.
Organizes customer visits to Battelle.Based on customer research, identifies appropriate participants and ensures they are appropriately briefed for the interaction.Participates in the creation of the sales plan. Develops visit agendas and promotional tools and communication vehicles to support implementation of the sales plan.
Responsible for post-sales call follow-up with assigned customers.Ensures client has all relevant Battelle information/literature on areas of interest.Responsible for scheduling next call/meeting. Identifies scope of work for proposal.
Performs technical market research for new market areas for NSGB.Documents market trends, conducts market segmentation, identifies customer needs, develops value chain/market channel, analyzes existing/planned product offerings with respect to customer needs.Recommends Battelle product offering and communication strategy to market place.
Generate customer lists by integrating various inputs and developing spreadsheets and databases
Responsible for organizing all aspects of technical conference events.Develops conference materials, provides assistance to presenters/exhibitors in preparing their materials or connecting with vendors (inside and outside Battelle) who can provide needed goods or services. Develops and executes conference follow-up plan.
Develops focused marketing materials (brochures, website) for use with both internal and external clients
THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in technical discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related disciplines.
Minimum 5 years experience Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
Advanced levels of skill with desktop publishing and spreadsheet and database management
Experience managing the development and production of marketing materials
Experience managing relationships with clients and members of the sales team
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with research organizations to recognize and build business
·Ability to travel 10 - 20% of the time.
THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
Experience in a product development and/or business development role, particularly in developing business opportunities
Advanced degree in related scientific or engineering discipline
Additional business development breadth in adjacent fields, such as technical communications, product development, advertising, or sales
Experience working with both government and non-government clients.
