Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Responsible for the management and continuous improvement of our process improvement programs, procedures, processes, and tools. These processes utilize Six Sigma, Lean, and process re-design tools and techniques. The Manager Process Improvement will support the initiation, research, development and approval of benchmarking analysis and best practices analysis to support various functional areas. The Manager Process Improvement works collaboratively and proactively with line personnel, management, executives, and other companies to compile, research, evaluate and recommend business practices and processes that enhance overall safety, increase productivity and reduce costs and target world class business goals. The Manager Process Improvement will direct process improvement activities including establishing initiative goals and metrics, directing data gathering, directing measurement and data analysis activities, recommending improvements to optimize processes, and recommending controls to maintain process performance.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES -Direct and facilitate the execution of process improvement programs and processes. Direct research of business best practices within and outside organization to establish benchmark data. Proactively interface with other Departments to gather and evaluate process data to initiate, develop, and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity, and reduced cost. -Develop and manage direct reports to facilitate complex improvement initiatives through the execution of our business process improvement programs, procedures, processes, and tools. -Train and develop capability within line organizations to perform process improvement activities in accordance with established programs and processes. -Improve our process improvement programs and processes in accord with new industry techniques and best practices. Adapt our programs as needed to achieve business strategic objectives -Prepare, approve, and manage departmental goals and budgets within assigned areas of responsibility.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum: -4-year degree in science, engineering, business, education or other related field. -A minimum of 8 to 10 years of operations experience in an energy related functional area. -Working knowledge of process improvement methodologies including Six Sigma, Lean, systems thinking, and Theory of Constraints. -Ability to develop, and maintain effective working relationships with customers, peers, subordinates, and management. -Project and program management skills. -Technical, analytical, and organizational skills along with strong demonstrated verbal and written skills. -Proficient computer skills in MS Office and other Windows based applications. -Demonstrated leadership ability in working with large diverse teams. -Demonstrated coaching ability and effective interpersonal skills. -Demonstrated analytical skills, systematic thinking and proactive information gathering. -Demonstrated knowledge and experience in designing and executing change management techniques.
