Location Huntsville, AL Department Engineering Schedule Full-time
Summary: B.S. Degree in Math, Physics or other engineering related discipline plus a minimum of 5 years experience in flight and/or simulation based performance analysis.
This position will primarily involve systems analysis in support of Verification, Validation and Accreditation efforts for the Ground Based Interceptor (GBI) component of the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) System. Specific emphasis is upon the models and simulations that are used to represent the GBI in the various real-time and non-real-time test venues. The subject models consist of large codes that are implemented in C, C++ and FORTRAN and execute in medium and high fidelity configurations. It is desirable that a candidate for this position have experience with high fidelity simulation, tactical weapon systems, embedded software, scenario development and/or performance assessment. Any level of experience with GMD related systems, sensors or threat signatures would be particularly beneficial.
Desirable technical skills with specific disciplines include C/C++, FORTRAN, Matlab, Linux, PC Platforms and 6DOF simulation. This position supports a team composed of government and contractor personnel from multiple organizations. Therefore, written and verbal communication skills are essential. The position will require the ability to work effectively with a team and as an individual performer. Some limited travel may be required. Position requires that candidate meet the requirements to obtain a final security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to obtain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
