Raytheon BBN Technologies is seeking qualified software engineers to work on projects involving networking or computer vision / image processing. Networking work will include the development of protocols for routing, mobility, network infrastructure, disruption tolerance, link layer protocols, and network management. Computer vision work will include developing algorithms for the efficient proceessing of 2D and 3D data sets to find and recognize features, classify parts of the scene, on single and multiple processor systmes. In general, the software engineers will perform research, and design and develop software to meet client's requirements. Once the system had been fully designed, software engineers then test, debug, and maintain the systems.

Typical work activities will include some or all of the following:
* researching, designing and writing software programs
* testing new software and finding faults
* enhancing existing programs by analyzing and identifying areas for modification
* 'bolting together' existing software products and getting incompatible platforms to work together
* investigating new technologies
* creating technical specifications and test plans;
* writing operational documentation with technical authors;
* maintaining systems by monitoring and correcting software defects
* working closely with other staff, such as project managers, systems and test engineers
* constantly updating technical knowledge and skills by attending
in-house and/or external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications

Projects will involve diverse technologies and network infrastructures including ad hoc and mobile networks.

Successful candidates will be goal oriented, will have good communications skills and good problem solving skills.
Qualifications:

*New MS grad in CS/EE or BS degree in CS/EE with 3 or more years of experience.

*Proficiency in C++ or Java

*Knowledge of software engineering lifecycle. OO design and analysis techniques.

*Knowledge of OpenCV, OpenGL, QT, Databases, or C# are all a plus for the image processing projects.


* REQUIRED: ability & willingness to obtain a security clearance for which the DoD requires US citizenship.
