Gerson Lehrman Group is looking for a highly talented Product Manager to join their G+ team as a Product Owner. G+ is a community for professionals, academics, and entrepreneurs. The Product Manager position is critical to the success of the site’s next stage of growth. Key Responsibilities:
* Drive product development initiatives through the entire product cycle for consumer facing online and mobile products. * Be an advocate for the user and help define experiences that place usability and interaction as the highest goals. * Work strategically with Business, Marketing and Research teams to define new product ideas and initiatives. * Lead user and business ideation sessions to fuel rapid prototype development. * Develop, gather and write product requirements: including Agile story grooming and iteration planning. * Work closely with program managers and engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum development framework comprising multiple agile teams worldwide. * Maximize efficiency in a constantly changing and growing environment where the process is fluid and creative and innovative solutions are encouraged.
Required Skills:
* An intuitive sense of product design from a social networking user perspective. * Exceptional ability to communicate verbally and in writing (PRDs/Agile Stories) across all levels of the company. * 3-4 years experience in product management at consumer facing organizations with high-engagement web-based products. * Experience with user-centered design methods including contextual inquiry, task analysis, cognitive walkthroughs, usability studies, and user workshops. * Passion for and understanding of the components of interactive design and game mechanics that lead to energized and engaged communities. * Working knowledge of web-based analytics and SEO. * 4yr bachelors degree (B.S. or B.A.). * Sense of humor. * Direct experience as a product manager for online or mobile products aimed at high-end users. * Working knowledge of Agile development tools such as Basecamp and Rally.
