Product Planning Manager
The Product Planning Organization leads the company in the definition of Product and Customer requirements for our vehicles. The Product Planning Manager is the advocate for a specific vehicle brand. They will lead cross functional teams composed of Engineering, Procurement, Design and Marketing staffs to define and develop products and features for each vehicle. It all starts with the customer: what they think of the brand and product; what needs motivate purchase; how insights help connect consumers to our products. The responsibilities of this position includes defining competitive landscape and specific competitor attributes. Define customer data - demographics, purchase/rejection reasons. Compile business cases for new features/content. Lead vehicle teams in the definition of product programs. Translate Brand objectives into product attributes/features. Manage product content complexity and targets globally. Define detailed vehicle attributes. Chair Product Lifecycle Teams. Ensure consistent contenting versus competitive set and showroom. Create and manage nameplate product plan. Ensure vehicle definition gate metrics are appropriate, clearly identified and reviewed at program milestones. Responsible to align vehicle component/systems to buildable vehicle product plan (Specify the Vehicle responsibility and Engineering Bill of Materials Interface). Communicate product plan to engineering team to determine feasibility. Review product correctness in external communication, PR, Sales and training materials. Support production launch and market launch activities. Analyze/recommend strategies to support 3rd party vehicle ratings (Consumers Report, etc.).
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint & Excel • 5-7 years' experience in one or more of the following: Product Planning, Product Marketing, Brand Management, Product Strategy
Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA preferred. • Self-starters that have the ability to analyze research data and provide insights/POV. • Experienced in quantifying consumer demand and trending via social media sources. • Able to multi-task and prioritize work load, while leading cross-functional areas to synergistic collaboration • Creatively driven style to take on tasks that produce outcomes outside the ""norm"" • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a complex organization. • Able to deliver concise product proposals through high level presentations.
