MODIS is seeking a Project Control Analyst for a direct hire position in Arlington, VA. Please send resume and salary to .

Responsible for the ground level implementation and sustaining efforts of maintaining detailed schedules. This resource will work closely with multiple Vice Presidents, Director of Client Services, Project Manager, Systems Analysts and Leads to obtain information to be utilized in the higher level integrated master schedule.

The Project Control Analyst position assumes a supporting role in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
. Participates in the development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBSs) and related dictionaries, that lead to the establishment of a cost/schedule baseline
. Act as internal project control resource to implement consistent project management processes for Vice President, Client Services, Project Manager, and other senior system analysts and accounting personnel.
. Establish, monitor, control, and report progress of projects by maintaining cost/schedule baselines, developing work breakdown structures and related management tools, creating detailed schedules, preparing charts, tables, graphs and diagrams to analyze problems.
. Communicate directly with Vice President, Client Services and Project Manager on the status of their project portfolio(s), including identifying, documenting, and resolving project issues and reporting issues and risks to management.
. Implement planning, startup execution, review, control, and closeout processes, and participate in process improvement activities.
. Understands basic Earned Value concepts and how they should be applied to projects
. Works with Senior Staff Accountant to prepare charge numbers and address accounting issues
. Monitors project costs and commitments, schedule performance, and performance against the baseline
. Understands financial policies and reporting procedures
. Prepares written and verbal reports regarding cost and schedule variances
. Produce weekly and monthly tracking reports and provide analysis on staffing and budget variances
. Develop / Maintain Project Schedules using Microsoft Project
. Support / Monitor Contractual deliverables
. Proactively review costs and discuss cost corrective actions as needed with Program Manager
. Assist in preparing staffing requirements and assess the budgetary impact of any changes
. Support ad-hoc external customer analysis requests
. Prepare meeting minutes notes and write team status / financial reports
. Assist PM with artifacts related to CMMI


Requirements:
. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project is a must, specific use with pivot tables, and formulas
. Knowledge of Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC)
. Excellent attention to detail is a must
. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, sponsors, contractors and vendors is required
. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously under moderate supervision
. Experience working in a structured project environment
. Excellent written communication skills
. Strong organization and time management skills

Desired Skills
. Working knowledge of other portions of Microsoft Office Suite (including PowerPoint)
. Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
. Working knowledge of macro writing and execution
. Prior experience in a government contracting environment
. Earned Value Management(EVM)knowledge and experience
. CMMI experience
. Project Management Certifications (CAPM, PMP, etc.)

Education & Experience:
. Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, management or related field is required. At least 10 years experience. Must have a minimum of 5 years of related experience, including at least 3 years managing resources, cost, schedule and scope of government contract projects.
