--- Project Manager The project manager will provide strong project oversight via a well defined methodology and corresponding project plan. Requires significant project management experience, specifically with SDLC, relationship management skills, strong systems planning and organizational management skills. Professional mastery related to the application of the PMI Process Groups; Initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing. Position involves supporting and approving control reviews, defining risks and identifying/executing risk mitigation, developing and executing project plans, project estimation and schedule. Strong written and verbal skills are required for this position.
Consultants hired into GBS Public Sector will typically be located in an IBM office or at an IBM client site in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Except in limited cases, relocation to the Washington, DC area is required & is not reimbursable. Generally, Public Sector clients are in the DC Metro area & require limited travel outside the local area. Some projects do require up to 100% travel for an extended period of time that is generally < 1 year. While most projects are in the DC metro area, Consultants must be able to travel & cannot refuse projects due to travel requirements.
