We make the world a safer place. Project Quality Engineer will support full-cycle Quality Engineering functions in large scale facilities operations, maintenance and construction facility on the ATOM program at the JDFPG.
JDFPG is a is a self sufficient facility near Alice Springs Australia generating power, water supply from on-site bores, waste disposal, food services, temporary quarters, maintenance activities, transportation to and from Alice Springs with a working population of approximately 900 persons. Quality engineering is applicable to the operations of JDFPG inclusive of base operations, and in-town offices and warehouse managing over 400 residences.
Quality Engineer will ensure the effective development, application and maintenance of the ATOM Program Quality Management System, and will provide strategic and technical input to the Management team on process related issues, regulatory requirements, and policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Develop plans and coordinate activities to implement the ATOM Quality Management System;
• Conduct audits of processes and identify existing or potential deficiencies in compliance with customer requirements, Facility Regulations, the ATOM SOW, US and Australian legislative requirements, and make recommendations to management for effective resolution;
• Report on performance of the Quality Assurance program;
• Assist ATOM management teams in the planning, development and ongoing implementation of the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS);
• Develop and deliver Quality Assurance training courses:
• Provide input and oversight to Construction work and subcontracts including Quality Plan, SOWs, Requirements and Design Reviews, Integration and Testing, and project acceptance.
Qualifications: PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Required - Active Top Secret clearance (DoD)
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Quality Management or related engineering field, or similar degree program
• Must a minimum of 2 years experience in design and implementation of ISO9001 based Quality Management Systems;
• Must be familiar with applicable US and Australian Defense Standards and Regulations;
• Must have sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint;
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Must have the ability to plan work and schedule projects and resources;
• Must have experience in working as part of a dedicated team;
• Must have the ability to provide strategic input to management;
• Must have well developed communication and interpersonal skills;
• Must have the ability and experience in mentoring, coaching and training of personnel.
Desired Skills: • Working knowledge of SAP Business system;
• Working knowledge of Paradigm Quality and EH&S tool;
• Experience working as a Quality Engineer in a facilities operations and maintenance or construction environment;
• Qualified Six Sigma Specialist or similar certification.
