The Opportunity:Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Quality System team. SEL seeks a Quality System Specialist who is responsible for assessing processes and practices for risk and conformance to quality standards and coaching area managers on improvements. We are seeking a Quality System Specialist experienced in communicating quality approaches to customers and acting as a resource to colleagues with less experience.

* Develops annual audit plan and leads internal audits and reviews to determine compliance with quality system and customer requirements.
* Develops internal auditor team to practice performance-based auditing practices as a tool for improving SEL processes.
* Educate and advise SEL leaders and employees on quality related topics, tools, and quality system requirements.
* Plan, prepare SEL leaders for, and host external audits as assigned.
* Communicates SEL quality approaches to customers and reviews customer requirements to ensure early quality involvement in projects.
* Implements new quality system requirements and manages special projects as assigned by the Quality System Manager.
* Reports on performance of Quality System processes.
* Follows and improves quality and efficiency of Quality System processes and systems for Document Control, Corrective and Preventive Actions, Customer Complaint, Internal Audit, and Quality lifications:
* BA/BS degree, business administration or quality management preferred
* Demonstrates knowledge of quality assurance/control principles and practices
* Two years experience auditing to ISO 9001 requirements
* Excellent teaching, communication, and project management skills
* Strong word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and database skills
* Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
* Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment
* Background check results satisfactory to SEL
* Negative drug test result(s)Preferred Qualifications:
* Knowledge of ISO17025 and nuclear requirements (10CFR50 Appendix B)
