The Opportunity:Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed college student majoring in Electrical Engineering and specializing in Power Systems for our Research Engineering Intern - Power Systems Emphasis postition. * Investigate complex systems for applicability to future SEL requirements.
* Document and communicate investigation results and write research reports.
* Provide support to research engineering staff as needed.
* Follow and improve engineering quality assurance lifications:
* Three years undergraduate studies in electrical engineering or computer science
* Knowledge of power system analysis, electrical circuit analysis, short circuit studies, power system stability analysis
* Knowledge of MATLAB or MATHCAD
* Ability to investigate, understand, and communicate relevance to SEL of new technologies
* Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
* Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
* Background check satisfactory to SEL
* Negative drug test result(s)Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with MATLAB or MATHCAD
