Research Scientist- STResearch Scientist-ST
(Up to 24 month Contract with opportunity to pursue direct hire positions)
Location: East Syracuse, NY
Must be willing to work overtime as needed to support manufacturing.
Overview: Support the development and manufacture of biologics products as part of the multidisciplinary Process Development Analytics & Clinical Support group.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of highly technical in-process HPLC tests of biologic samples to support manufacturing and development activities.
- Knowledge and use of all associated software (i.e. Empower, etc.) applicable to the instrumentation.
- Maintenance and calibration of HPLCs associated with the tests
- Development and qualification of new methods and assessment of robustness of existing methods.
- Write and review technical documents and support manufacturing processes as needed.
- Follow all SOP's, written scientific methods, experimental protocols, cGMP standards and site wide safety guidelines.
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field
- 2+ years hands-on work experience.
- Hands on lab experience in HPLC chromatography preferably using Waters instrumentation with Empower software.
- Knowledge of cGMP standards
- Knowledgeable with other laboratory techniques and analytical instrumentation i.e. spectroscopic analysis, gel electrophoresis, glycoprotein characterization, ELISA
- Molecular biology applications; such as QPCR and PCR amplification quantification and genetic characterization of mammalian cell lines is also desirable.
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interface within diverse settings and teams, handle multiple projects and contribute to continuous improvement of analytical testing.
