DESCRIPTION This is work determining tax liability or collecting taxes from individuals or business firms according to prescribed laws and regulations. Some positions in this occupation may be responsible for coordinating work and supervising employees. Responses to qualifying questions should be verifiable by skills and/or experience stated on the employment application. POSITION DESCRIPTION This position plans, processes, and controls action relative to revocation cases. Provide direction and training to Revenue Specialist as needed or as directed by supervisor. Works with the Department legal staff as required to effect resolution of cases. Receives, processes, coordinates and maintains control on federal bankruptcy notices and proceedings for all taxes administered by the Department until case is closed. Establishes and maintains records of bankruptcy claims filed and cases where no claim is filed and maintains accounting data necessary. Plans, processes, controls, and coordinates actions necessary in the filing and enforcement of liens, warrants, and satisfactions for all taxes administered by the Department. Make informed judgments concerning the collectability of warrants and cast/benefit in pursuing further enforcement actions. Establishes contact with and provides information as re quested to Clerk of Court, attorneys, sheriffs and taxpayers or their representatives. Prepare special information reports or statistical reports for bankruptcy claims, levies, warrants and satisfactions. Provide education and registration activities to assure past and future compliance with tax laws administered by the Department. Recommend and assist in developing process improvements for business processes within the guidelines of GTA Strategic Plan. Make field visits as needed or as directed by supervisor. Collect taxes for special event (fairs, sidewalk art shows, carnivals, etc.) as needed or directed by supervisor. Perform related work as required.
