This is an Internal Agency employment opportunity. Only those applicants who are currently employed by the Department of Revenue will be considered for this position.
This position is located in the GTA, Port Richey Service Center, Collections Sub-Process. Selection Criteria: Applicants must have a high school diploma or its equivalent; applicant must have two years experience working in the GTA Collections Sub-Process; applicant must have at least two years experience collecting delinquent tax obligations using SAP; Applicant must have customer service experience/skills in interviewing and negotiation over the phone and in person; applicant must have experience analyzing financial data and problem solving; applicant must have experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Annual Base Salary: $27,926.04
Monthly Base Salary: $2,327.17

DESCRIPTION
This is work determining tax liability or collecting taxes from individuals or business firms according to prescribed laws and regulations.
Some positions in this occupation may be responsible for coordinating work and supervising employees.
Responses to qualifying questions should be verifiable by skills and/or experience stated on the employment application.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position plans, processes, and controls actions relative to revocation cases.
Assist in providing direction and training to Revenue Specialists as needed or as directed by manager.
Work with the Department's Legal Staff as required to effect resolution of cases.
Receive, process, coordinate and maintain controls on Federal Bankruptcy Notices and proceedings for all taxes administered by the Department until the case is closed.
Establish and maintain records of bankruptcy claims filed and cases where no claim is filed and maintains accounting data necessary.
Plan, process, control and coordinate actions necessary in the filing and enforcement of liens, warrants, and satisfactions for all taxes administered by the Department.
Make informed judgments concerning the collectability of warrants and the cost/benefit in pursuing further enforcement actions.
Establish contact with and provide information as requested to Clerks of the Court, attorneys, sheriffs and taxpayers or their representatives.
Prepare special information reports or statistical reports for bankruptcy claims, levies, warrants and satisfactions.
Provide educational and registration activities to assure past and future compliance with tax laws administered by the Department.
Assist and make recommendations in developing process improvements for business processes within the guidelines of GTA's Strategic Plan.
Make field visits as needed or as directed by manager.
Collect taxes for special events (fairs, sidewalk art shows, carnivals, etc.) as needed or directed by manager.
Perform related work as required.
