Job Title: Route Maintenance Technician The General Maintenance Technician will be directed and work under the supervision of facilities management team, and is responsible for performing route maintenance duties, as required. The Maintenance Technician will respond to emergencies and/or be scheduled to perform a set amount of functions as the employee requires, while adhering to scheduled Web based preventive maintenance program (PM). The Maintenance Technician will take ownership of maintenance needs and perform trouble shooting as necessary. The Tech will interface with Senior Route Supervisor, and provide them feedback on visual inspections of building and system conditions. Beyond strong technical skills and systems knowledge, this position requires strong customer service skills.
Required Capabilities: The position requires a person capable of working independently, yet who can follow the directions of others. The position also requires a person able of displaying initiative to resolve issues prior to customer complaints. Excellent maintenance skills are essential as well as a thorough understanding of employer’s policies and procedures. The technician must be organized, responsive and follow-through with each and every request to help ensure that satisfaction is achieved. The ability to maintain, track and anticipate inventory needs is mandatory. The Technician must take initiative in dealing with routine issues (e.g. plumbing, lighting and HVAC) as they are discovered. The GMT needs to be able to adhere to a routine schedule while being faced with interruptions. Weekly/Monthly reporting is required, but heightened verbal communication of customer needs and facility issues must be exhibited.
Maintenance Technician shall be capable of responding to and resolving building related problems or service requests for Facilities related work. In general, Maintenance Technician shall be responsible for the general upkeep, repair, identification and maintenance of the HVAC and Back Up Generator Systems and respond to reactive work orders. The term "Equipment and Systems" shall include:
* Electrical Systems
* Exterior Lighting
* Interior Lighting
* Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
* Generator Maintenance
* Plumbing Systems
* Fire Sprinkler and Fire Extinguishers
* Roof Inspection
* Exterior Painting (minor)
* Doors, Door Hardware and Lock Systems
Maintenance Technician shall be available for after hours service calls to respond and take necessary corrective actions as coordinated between Maintenance Technician and Management.
Requirements: Minimum of 3-5 years experience. Universal Refrigeration License and experience in the HVAC industry.
