Safety Coordinator
Our client, one of the fastest growing generic pharmaceutical companies in the country, is in search of a Safety Coordinator who will be responsible for promoting Health and Safety polices and for ensuring compliance with all pertinent regulations that apply to the site.
Key responsibilities
Facilitates safety and health training on multiple shifts
Makes safety visible in the workplace through various postings, safety messages, and other strategies
Conduct risk assessment, process review, and toxicology review of chemicals
Oversees an effective correction action process to close the loop on prioritized opportunities
Facilitates plant safety committees through the identification, development, and sharing of injury trend analysis and key performance indicators to drive ownership with the direct-line operations management team, their direct reports, and all employees
Participates in the incident prevention process at the site including root cause analysis and corrective actions for all injuries, near-miss incidents, property, and environmental losses.
Willingness to participate as member of plant emergency response team
Demonstrated ability of developing, implementing, and auditing safety and health programs such as, but not limited to, lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, PPE, hazard communication, respiratory protection, etc.
Ability to prioritize numerous tasks effectively
Scope of authority
• Determines technical objectives of assignments
• Recommends future directions within area of expertise
• Suggests potential new products and new techniques
• Works toward long-range goals and objectives
Requirements:
Candidates MUST have a minimum of BS Degree, Occupational Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or other applicable field.
Successful candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of working directly in the field of safety with a working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Manufacturing experience required
Must be willing to work off hours/weekends to cover a 24/7 facility
