Job Summary: The role of the Sales Engineering is to technically support the Digital Sales Organization throughout the technical sales cycle employing solution selling methodologies. Sales Engineers are a technical resource teamed with the Digital Sales Executives to present Iron Mountain Digital solutions to prospective customers. In the technical sales role, the SE owns the technical sale, performs product demonstrations, provides technical input into to RFPs & RFIs, and architects solutions interacting with both technical and non-technical prospect resources. The Sales Engineer manages all technical activities associated with customer product pilots and serves as a high-level account manager for existing customers to help position future sales and upgrades.
Essential Job Functions: * Support the Sales efforts for the Direct Sales group . * Work with assigned Sales Executives to develop comprehensive strategies throughout the sales cycle employing solution-selling methodologies to achieve sales goals in assigned business territories. * Work closely with the Sales Executives and Management to effectively demonstrate the Digital solutions and continually hone presentations skills. * Technically qualify all opportunities brought in by the assigned Sales Executive. * Map prospect’s business objectives to detailed use cases and incorporate those use cases as critical success factors during product pilots. * Gain ‘Trusted Advisor’ status with prospects and customers. * Schedule and conduct product pilots (where applicable). * Assist with RFI’s and RFP’s by providing content to all technical questions. Requirements
Requirements:> * Minimum of 3 years in a Sales Engineering, Support, Professional Services or Consulting role. * Deep domain knowledge of storage and the storage industry. * Must have the ability to technically qualify opportunities on the following Digital Products: * Virtual File Store for tier 3 data archiving * Connected Backup for PC & MAC * LiveVault Backup for Servers * TEMS II (MimeCast) for Email Archiving * Knowledge of Cloud Computing, Disaster Recovery best practices, and Data Archiving. * Microsoft Certification highly preferred. Educational Requirements: * Four year college degree with emphasis in IT/CS or another related field of study or equivalent related work experience. ITAR Compliance: Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to customer information regulated by the ITAR.
