JOB DESCRIPTION
Description This role is responsible for conducting vulnerability assessments of our client’s applications and IT infrastructure. This role will report to Sr. Manager of Threat and Vulnerability Management and work closely with the CISO to identify, evaluate, and remediate potential weaknesses in our client’s systems using both manual and automated methods.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Technical Skills: This role is highly technical, requiring at least 3 years of experience conducting vulnerability assessments. The following technical skills are required: * Application vulnerability assessment tools (e.g. AppScan, WebInspect, Cenzic, Burp, etc.) * Network and server assessment tools (e.g. Nessus, Retina, Qualys, metasploit, nmap, nikto, etc.) * Ability to write custom exploits using modern scripting languages (e.g. perl, ruby, C/C++, etc.) * Understanding of defensive programming concepts (e.g. input filtering, output encoding, OWASP Top 10, etc.) * Understanding of web application frameworks (Ruby on Rails, J2EE, PHP, ) * Understanding of core Internet protocols (e.g. DNS, HTTP, TCP, UDP, TLS, IPSEC) * Understanding of encryption fundamentals (symmetric/asymmetric, ECB/CBC operations, AES, etc.) * Threat modeling fundamentals (e.g. STRIDE, FAIR, etc.) Non-technical skills:This role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, time management skills, and the ability to present risks and propose countermeasures to senior technology executives (CISO, CTO).
