Position Overview Parsons has an immediate opening for a full-time, on-site, Senior Construction Engineer for a pre-construction and construction management assignment for a multiple phase hospital expansion for the Grossmont - Sharp Hospital in San Diego, CA. The facility is leased by Hospital Operator (Sharp Healthcare) who will provide other team members to the Project Management Team.
Project duties include daily support of Parsons and Owner (Grossmont Hospital District) staff on numerous projects of the Prop ""G"" Program focusing on reviewing and processing RFIs, submittals, Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings, contractor billings, and change orders. Monthly reporting / job status reporting and schedule updates may be a part of responsibilities depending on skill sets. Project team will be using IMPACT Software as a management tool. Qualifications: • 4-year degree in engineering or construction-related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience
• 5y Construction Management or field experience as on-site Project Engineer or similar is required
• Experience with California Hospitals built under approval and inspection by OSHPD is a plus
• Software skills in Microsoft Project, Excel and Word expected. IMPACT training will be supplied.
• Expert status abilities of the PIMS are required within 3 months of employment.
• Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects at domestic and/or foreign locations is preferred.
