ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer helps to ensure the highest level of quality for products and services. The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will partner closely with hosting engineers, software development engineers and project managers to understand product requirements and functionalities for developing and executing appropriate test plans and test cases.
PRIMARY DUTIES: * Work with an international Quality Assurance team with members in Pittsburgh, Annapolis, Seattle and Melbourne, Australia. * Execute the testing of development projects, patching and hosting upgrades and coordinate equipment & resources to facilitate testing based on project schedules. * Developing quality standards and ensuring the development and execution of software test plans and analysis of test results. * Define test strategies, designing and implementing a testing platform to verify reliability, scalability and security. * Provide subject matter expert knowledge on Quality Assurance software, tools and best practices. * Reviewing requirements, designs and unit tests. * Architect, design and maintain test automation frameworks in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team and development teams using Quick Test Pro (QTP) and Quality Center. * Work closely with development to troubleshoot problems and perform root cause Analysis. * Work with Quality Assurance team and development teams to build and maintain a robust set of reusable automation test scripts using descriptive programming (not record and playback). * Mentor and assist Quality Assurance team members to improve their automated testing skills. * Participation in release and version management. * Reporting quality metrics and trends.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: * 4 years of Quality Assurance experience. * 4 years of experience with Quality Assurance methodologies and processes. * 4 years of experience writing test cases/procedures to an approved specification, automation of test scripts. * 2 years of experience with automated tools. * 2 years of experience testing web-based and database centric applications. * Must have a a B.A. college degree or commensurate work experience.
PREFERRED SKILLS: * Proficient with Quick Test Pro (QTP), LoadRunner, Quality Center or similar tools. * Proficient in SQL. * Experience in developing and executing performance and benchmark test strategies. * Experience in configuring, writing VUGen Scripts, Controller and analyzing results using Load Runner. * Working knowledge of Microsoft development platforms. * Thorough understanding of the SDLC (Agile – Scrum). * Knowledge of enterprise application technologies and architecture. * Necessary skills include flexibility, ability to work under tight deadlines, ability to handle multiple tasks through prioritization and time management skills, excellent communication, exceptional collaboration and organizational skills. * Possession of sufficient credit to facilitate travel if and when required.
