Overview:
The Analytics Team enables and empowers the organization with analytic insight to support planning, tactical execution and optimization of the customer experience. The Senior Analyst combines technical knowledge of internet tracking with strong analytical skills. The position is responsible for supporting the Merchant and Marketing teams with reporting and in depth analysis. Additionally, this position ensures our ability to build an accurate and robust report suite by working with technology and marketing teams to tag website content and Macy's content hosted on other sites.
Key Accountabilities:
Act as technical advisor for measuring site enhancements and new features on . This includes understanding what actions and combinations of actions on the website require tracking, providing specifications to the technology teams for implementing the correct analytics code, and working with the marketing and tactical teams to create report infrastructure.
Partner with the experimentation team in defining KPIs to track performance of multiple online marketing tactics, site enhancements, and new features implemented on , in order to measure success of planned tests. This includes establishing metrics baselines, working to evaluate the success in meeting the business objectives, and reporting results to the organization.
Act as a thought leader in analytics group. Guide marketing and merchandising teams on what data to examine and how to interpret it.
Responsible for Macy's internet tagging roadmap. This includes documenting upcoming projects, status of current projects, and communicating status to marketing teams.
Provide insight and actionable recommendations for improving online marketing campaigns through analysis of website usage data.
Identify opportunities for improvement in the website design, layout and navigation.
Stay informed about, communicate, and apply new or current trends and best practices in online marketing, customer and marketing analytics, and e-commerce website design. Fully understand the functionality, application of Web Analytics tool, using this knowledge to answer business questions and directly report findings to the business decision makers.
Act as administrator of Web Analytics tool, working internally to support and train others on the effective use of the tool.
Skills Summary:
BA/BS in a quantitative field, business or marketing-related major preferred or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years of experience in web analytics.
2 years of experience with website page tagging and report development with web analytics vendor (Coremetrics, Omniture, etc).
Thorough understanding of the Internet, online shopping, web design/layout and navigation.
Possess strong analytic skills, have the ability to learn new concepts and software applications quickly and efficiently.
Possess strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
Be a highly motivated self-starter. Candidate must be comfortable working independently to achieve a successful result with minimal guidance.
Have strong verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable presenting in front of a group.
Ability to make complicated ideas understandable to a broad audience.
Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
Basic knowledge of statistics and significance testing.
Confidently handle multiple projects simultaneously and under deadlines.
Possess proven ability to work with cross-functional teams.
