Senior Software Engineer for Product - LarkspurSenior Software Engineer for Product
Our company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work with our Product Development team. The ideal candidate would be a seasoned Java engineer capable of mentoring junior engineers. This position is based in Larkspur, CA.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain company mobile and server applications to meet the needs of our customers
Develop Java Enterprise Edition server components
Develop mobile application user interfaces using native application interfaces
Develop browser-based user interfaces using HTML, CSS and AJAX
Develop and execute unit tests for product components
Develop and maintain tools and utilities that assist in testing, deploying and supporting customer implementations
Design and architect next generation banking application components
Be an “expert” for technical aspects of the product
Solve problems and present creative solutions to teams
Work closely with other senior developers to design and implement components in timely manner
Provide accurate work estimates for proposed projects
Work with QA to ensure high quality of delivered product
Mentor and cross-train other java developers
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Proven skills as a technical expert and team leader in Java and JavaEE technology solutions
Advanced understanding of Object Oriented Design and Design Patterns
Experience with mobile platforms such as iPhone, Android and BlackBerry ideal
Experience with a scripting language such as Groovy or Ruby a bonus
Able to rapidly pick up new concepts; self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies
Must have a passion for working with and mentoring junior developers
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Experience leading remote or offshore resources an asset
Able to stand up and drive discussions; take ownership and facilitate design meetings, set direction and ensure tasks are complete
Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
Must be able to work full time in Larkspur, CA (Do not apply if you’re not local)
