Currently looking to hire a Software Development Manager to help manage a high performing fast paced team developing software as a service solutions. The successful candidate will have a passion and commitment for leading a team of high caliber software engineers in the development of top quality software. This individual will plan, schedule, staff and track projects to meet requirements. The successful candidate will mentor software engineers and ensure they have effective support to grow their capabilities.
This role requires an individual with strong leadership skills who is focused on customer requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and day-to-day tracking of software projects in order to meet customer expectations, reduce project and technical risks and execute projects on-time, within budget, and with the highest quality. The successful candidate will mentor and grow the capabilities of the team's software engineers to meet future challenges. The individual will be responsible for all aspects of performance management for the team. Qualifications:
- Ability to mentor and develop capabilities of team members, and manage their performance. - Ability to convey division and company goals as concrete team and individual goals. - Demonstrated experience in a project leadership role. - Demonstrated passion for quality, and the delivery of first rate software to customers. - Excellent communications, written and verbal. Must be able to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience. - Willingness to actively participate in manager meetings, including weekly meetings, resource planning discussions, strategy meetings, and progress reporting sessions. - Plan and adhere to schedules in area of ownership. - Negotiate product features, design specifications, project schedules, and the necessary resources for developing new products on time and within budget. - Must be comfortable managing projects with interdependencies with other project development timelines. - Effectively leverage outsource development resources. - Lead feature development, ensuring that all appropriate stakeholders from product design, tech pubs, QA, development and product management are informed and engaged. - BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field - Extensive experience in software development, especially OOD methodology.
Desired knowledge and skills: - Experience building multi-tenant applications - Experience with some or all of the following: Java, J2EE, JavaScript, XML/XSLT, HTML, Hibernate, Spring, Google Web Toolkit, Struts & Tiles, JSP, Selenium/TestNG, Eclipse, Tomcat - Experience building highly scalable systems. - Excellent communication and written skills Apply for this job:
