Software Product Development Manager Location: Dayton, OH Salary: Commensurate Job ID: 111227 We are conducting a search for a Southwestern, Ohio based client, who is seeking a Person with solid software experience in leading the development of a new controller platform Job Description: The first task this person would undertake is to get to know the company's current controller platform as well as that of the competition by traveling to different parts of the world to understand what the company's customers (internal and external) need and want. This is particularly important in Europe where the user interface and reporting is so important. This may take up to 9 months. Once he/she understands what is needed, the next step will be to pull together a small development team to execute a new controller line product development, including everything from very simple displays to a full line control system. This would include potentially working with the company's sister company to understand what controller/display platforms are already out there and how best to establish and release the company's own. Requirements: Expertise in a combination of the following: C/C++, object-oriented design/programming, multithreading, Unix/Linux, systems architecture, client/server, network/socket programming, device drivers, simulations/modeling, machine vision, automation, real-time embedded systems, systems administration, and product and project management. Knowledgeable in both traditional requirements based development process and agile methods with emphasis on the software process and software process improvements. Strong technical and problem solving skills combined with proven leadership and people skills. Must have a BS degree in a technical discipline. Salary/Benefits: Commensurate with excellent benefits.
