Manager, Financial Accounting
Position Description:
The Manager of Financial Accounting will ensure that accounting policies and procedures are followed in accordance with company policies in addition to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
The successful candidate will?
1.) Lead financial accounting and provide strategic direction for a professional staff
2.) Direct the monthly and year-end closing process to ensure that reports are accurate and timely
3.) Review monthly results of businesses and perform the analytical review of key financial and operating information
4.) Conduct periodic update meetings with local contacts to understand new business initiatives and potential risks within the business and report findings to upper management in a timely manner
5.) Provide guidance to customers in regards to accounting, projects and systems issues
6.) Provide support with government contract reporting requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Proficiency with large scale enterprise systems and Microsoft Office applications
· Strong leadership, managerial, communication and organization skills
· PeopleSoft and Cognos experience preferred
Education and Experience
· Bachelors degree in accounting and / or MBA preferred
· CPA a must
· 10+ years relevant experience required, and
· Combination of Public and Corporate accounting experience
· Supervisory experience required
