Sr Analyst-Strategic Planning
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or Business Administration. MBA preferred.
• Certifications: CPA preferred but not required
• Experience: 3-5 years of related experience with strong analytical skills.
• 4 years Financial analysis experience
• Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills are essential.
• Experience with financial reporting tools such as Essbase and Hyperion Strategic Finance a plus
• Other: Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Proven ability to take the initiative to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deliver results by critical deadlines.
• Knowledge and understanding of cellular industry trends and key business drivers.
•Understanding of accounting principles and knowledge of budget mary responsibility is to support the development of the 5 and 10-year Business Plan using Hyperion Strategic Finance (HSF) software. Secondary responsibilities include supporting the development of Senior Executive presentations and ad hoc financial analysis.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the development of the VZW long-term business plan using HSF. This includes developing/modifying one or more of the following forecasts: wireless industry, customers (prepaid, postpaid, connections etc...), revenue (voice, data by product, other), expense (headcount, cost of acquisition/retention, other operating expenses), capital by category, Debt and Interest, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow. Analysis should include a review of current trends, impact from changes in strategic direction, introduction of new products and services, as well as, competitive responses. Develop models using complex excel functions/formulas to support analysis and forecasts. Update models in the HSF database based on feedback from Senior Management.
Support Senior Executive presentations including research, analysis, and review meetings. This includes determining/providing feedback on the appropriate content for the audience (i.e. internal vs. external, Employees, Senior Management etc...), developing models (i.e. What if scenarios), providing feedback on various slide layouts to effectively deliver the message and research/trend analysis of data to develop slides.
Conduct financial analysis of ad hoc projects as required. This includes researching market opportunity, benchmarking to competitors, developing models and influencing internal organizations to drive the business in a profitable manner.
