Sr Manager, Industrial Engineer - McDonough (Sports Management/Operations)
This is the excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for the chance to work for a nationally known leader in the sporting goods industry in an automated distribution center setting. We are seeking a subject matter leader who can work under the direction of our corporate Industrial Engineering group, but in close concert with facility managers and staff to develop or implement business engineering processes in order to achieve continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, communicating and executing exciting initiatives associated with:
Increasing productivity through the management of people, methods of business organization, and technology.
Assisting in planning the utilization of equipment, materials and human capital to develop and improve the efficiency and safe utilization of the distribution center facilities.
Working closely with the facility's Maintenance Team to help identify and resolve system or mechanical issues, and improve our strategic planning.
Studying operation sequences, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to help determine worker functions and job responsibilities.
Conferring with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status.
Partnering with corporate staff, facility leaders, and industrial engineers within the company to develop functional strategies and a viable business vision for engineered standards in our distribution network.
Minimum Requirements
Successful candidates will be hands-on, self directed leaders who realize their success lies in working closely with other managers to plan, organize and affect change. If the primary responsibilities above intrigues you, and you meet the following minimal qualifications; this may be the opportunity for you!
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering preferred, but will consider a degree in an allied analytical field.
Entry level to 2 years experience in supply chain, industrial engineering or distribution center management role.
Theoretical knowledge of traditional industrial engineering principles and techniques.
Ability to schedule, plan and manage projects with or without direct intervention.
Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite including the creation and maintenance of Excel spreadsheets and Access databases.
Possess the ability to calculate work measurements and productivity analysis.
