Position Summary / Key Job Responsibilities: POSITION SUMMARY Develops and implements optimal, cost effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with customer product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, equipment and controls. B. JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and participate in product planning meetings consisting of Engineering, Sales, Project Management, Quality, and Manufacturing to map the manufacturing process and identify actions to resolve challenges
Develop detailed, clear, and accurate manufacturing routers based on customer specifications, drawings, internal and outside processing capabilities, internal procedures, and heavy communication with Engineering and Manufacturing.
Utilize the ERP system to input, update, and maintain BOM's, Master Routings, and Production Routings as necessary, working closely with planners to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Support & enforce the quality system and adherence to procedures & work instructions.
Actively participate in the quote process providing and/or coordinating machining and welding hours working with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing.
Confer with all levels and departments regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations regarding production processes.
Design, develop and test and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods. Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of tooling, machinery and equipment according to specifications and quality standards
Perform research, design, and development of manufacturing processes for continuous improvement
Perform and assist in root cause analysis and cost analysis
Lead process improvement initiatives such as SMED, 6S, TPM, new equipment/tooling implementation
Develop controls and reports to monitor processes and provide feedback to management and customers
Write capital appropriation requests
Represent manufacturing on cross-functional teams and frequently interface with Sales, Customers, and other RTI Facilities
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelors degree related to manufacturing and/or 7 years equivalent experience
Strong working knowledge of ERP system functionality
Excellent Computer Skills
o Experience with CAD/CAM
o Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
o SAP experience a MAJOR PLUS
Able to motivate, influence, and train people one on one and in team settings
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
Process Improvement Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Theory of Constraints, or Quick Response Manufacturing techniques
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once
Experience with ISO and/or API quality systems
Good organization skills
Ability to work with vendors and customers
Ability to promote and maintain a safe working environment
