Nesco Resource is currently recruiting for aSenior Project Manager (photonics industry)for our client in San Jose, CA/MA OR NY!
Manage the development and implementation process for our client’s products. Coordinates cross-functional teams focused on delivering new or upgraded products. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending. Organizes cross-functional activities and ensures completion of the project on schedule and within budget constraints.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manage cross-functional project team to develop photonics new products or processes
* Drive product life cycle process
* Collaborate with product management, sales, finance, and operations
* Lead cross functional and global product initiatives
* Refine plans as necessary to achieve project targets
* Provide key customer contact representing our client'sproject team
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS:
* BS in engineering or physics required, MBA or MS in Engineering preferred
* Minimum of 5 years experience as a strategic technology integrator for R&D programs and a minimum of 5 years experience as a project manager in an innovative environment.
* Experienced, solutions oriented manager seasoned with upstream product development processes and downstream manufacturing introduction
* Experience in demand driven innovation processes/sr. level leadership of projects beginning at concept phase and driven into manufacturing is required
* Experience should include interdisciplinary technical management including embedded software systems, electronic and control systems, systems engineering, systems integration, or aerospace technology
* Familiarity with project management process and tools such as MS Project a must
* Project management training with experience developing and executing thorough project plans
* Previous experience in multi-national product development a must/demonstrated ability to lead globally dispersed teams
* Experienced in working with the optics, electronic controls, and mechanics of multiple photonic solutions strongly desired
* Six Sigma certification a plus
* Experience managing projects utilizing China based design and manufacturing a plus
* Experience in wavelength management or optical monitoring equipment desired
* Energetic, proactive, and assertive leader
* Strong team player, demonstrated ability to build cross functional linkages internally, externally and culturally
* Well developed communication skills-verbal, written, listening
* Process oriented, rigorous with structural flexibility able to see the “big” picture
* Proven ability to work under pressure and manage stress
* Must be willing to play role of “hands on” team member
* International travel required (10-20%)
