These sites are supported by a global network of R&D, design enablement, and customer support in Singapore, China, Taiwan, Japan, the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

Job Summary:
The Sr. Trade Compliance Specialist functions as FAB 8 site lead with regard to the company's compliance with import and export regulations, with responsibility for developing and managing the trade compliance program, including employee education and training, operational processes, classification, import/export documentation, internal audit and government reporting procedures to ensure continuous compliance with laws governing international trade. Job is located within the FAB 8 Malta, NY site and reporting to Manager of Logistics, with oversight and guidance from the Corporate Program Manager of Global Trade Compliance.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
. Oversee import compliance activities such as classification, valuation, country of origin, recordkeeping, and use of duty free programs.
. Oversee export compliance activities such as EAR and ITAR classification, licensing, denied party screening, export clearance of company's goods and technology, and recordkeeping.
. Maintain a documented U.S. Customs compliance program in accordance with Customs guidelines and regulations for the US business.
. Develop and implement appropriate policies, strategies, and procedures to enhance company's import and export compliance program and to implement new regulatory requirements.
. Work closely with US import and export daily operations department advising on classification, licensing, and other compliance related matters.
. Maintain a current, comprehensive knowledge of the regulations, policies and practices of trade compliance agencies including U.S. Departments of Commerce and State, and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
. Provide advice and counsel to US management on trade requirements for major initiatives and special projects.
. Manage, direct, and evaluate the work of designated customs brokers, and audit broker invoices and entry summaries for compliance with CBP regulations.
. Continuously work toward improving and automating the processes and procedures to ensure compliance with export laws and regulations, including transfer of technical data
Monitor regulatory changes and revise compliance policies and practices in accordance with changing legal framework and business models.
. Conduct periodic training classes in trade compliance for other departments.
. Direct auditing of import and export compliance programs; support the conduct of audits by U.S. Government agencies.

Required Qualifications:
. Bachelor's Degree in Logistics , international trade, supply chain or related field.
. Minimum of 5 years experience in a international trade compliance position.
. Must possess a detailed working knowledge of the import and export process requirements and U.S. Government regulations.
. In-depth knowledge of, and extensive experience with, the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Customs Regulations, and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
. Strong verbal and written communications skills, appropriate for an international environment and briefings/presentations.
. Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel such as lawyers, government officials, purchasing and shipping personnel, engineers, and clerical to management personnel.
. Willingness to travel both in the U.S. and internationally.
. Excellent detail orientation and analytical ability. Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
. Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities/projects in a demanding environment.
. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
. Customs broker license preferred.
. Experience in Oracle GTM
. Experience with Focused Assessments, Importer Self Assessments, and/or C-TPAT a plus
