SR Training, LNO (DLIELC)
Serves as the SANG Liaison Officer under the immediate direction of the Chief, CONUS Liaison Office as the Vinnell Arabia representative at the Defense Language Institute, English Language Center (DLIELC) at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas. Manages a permanent office at DLIELC.
Coordinates and provides assistance to all SANG students in matter personal in nature; e.g., financial problems, family difficulties, Passport/Visa requirements, leave requirements, transportation, medical problems, open banking account, purchase of cell phone and other activities as directed by Chief, CLO.
Meets and assist SANG students and their families arriving from Saudi Arabia and coordinates with airline officials concerning their arrival and flight connection to final destination.
Available to SANG students for counseling and advice on academic and personal matters day and night.
Responsible for conducting a briefing for all newly arriving SANG students scheduled to attend the twelve (12) SELT or the nine (9) week SELT course at DLIELC.
Report to the Chief, CLO all serious incidents involving SANG students. This must be accomplished in a timely manner telephonically and followed by a written report.
Maintains liaison with the DLIELC officials as it regards SANG students.
Monitors entry ECL testing and report results to the Chief, CLO and other offices.
Arrange for dependent immunization, when required.
Maintains SANG students per diem check payment record and distribute LQA checks to students.
Assist DLIELC Squadron Staff in monitoring student absences.
Schedule students meeting when required.
Answer office telephone providing necessary response for referral to inquiries as appropriate.
Conduct briefing concerning FOT location, training, and etc.
Maintains an active master file for all SANG students in CONUS training.
Monitors SANG students academic progress in Specialized English Language Training (SELT) on a continuing basic and submit monthly SANG Student Academic Reports to all concerned offices.
Receives incoming message from Jobsite concerning SANG students in CONUS training. When requested, takes necessary action or passes the message by the most expeditious manner to the individuals concerned.
Conduct quarterly visits to FOT training sites as directed by Chief, CLO. Attend SANG students graduation from FOT.
Submits After Action Reports (ARR) following each Liaison visits to FOT locations as directed by Chief, CLO.
Maintains Liaison with the International Military Student Office (IMSO)/International Student Detachment (ISD) at US Military Schools attended by SANG students, and insures they are fully informed on all matters pertaining to SANG students at their respective Service Schools.
Active subscriber of the Security Assistance Network (SAN) with access to the Security Assistance Information Training Management System (TMS).
Performs such other duties as the Chief, CLO direct.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. Former military experience dealing with officers of the Saudi Arabian National Guard, and possesses thorough knowledge of both Saudi Arabian National Guard Modernization Program and CONUS training program. Must know and understand Saudi culture and customs. Ability to operate independently. Capable of preparing correspondence for the approval of Chief, CLO. Must be a highly mobile individual that can travel on short notice and spend frequent, or extended periods of time away from DLIECL as directed by the Chief, CLO. . Must be adept in dealing with foreign dignitaries and military personnel.
Must be proficient in using current MS Office Professional software. Must also possess strong skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Must be adept in dealing with foreign dignitaries and military personnel.
