Raytheon BBN Technologies' Information and Knowledge Technologies Business Unit, located in Cambridge, MA, is seeking qualified Staff Software or Systems Engineers who will perform funded prototype development and integration in distributed systems, including projects developing prototype solutions in one or more of the following areas:
* Security, survivability, and fault tolerance of distributed systems * Virtualization and cloud computing * Service-oriented and modular architectures * Publish-subscribe middleware * Enterprise and embedded environments * Federated and cross-domain systems * Adaptation, control, and learning * High-performance computing, GPUs, and FPGAs * Software engineering for advanced distributed systems
He or she will work on a team with 3-10 other technical staff to develop prototype software solutions to complex research and development problems. Successful candidates will be goal oriented, be able to work independently on tasks as part of a research team, have a desire to continually develop new skills, and a desire to work closely with customers. Minimum Education and Experience:
* BS or MS in Computer Science or related discipline. MS preferred. * Experience in modern software engineering technologies. * 0-3 years work relevant work experience. * Experience with a variety of advanced concepts, practices, and procedures in software development such as Java, SOA, cloud computing, virtual machines, agile development, rapid prototyping. * Proficiency in software development especially in a team context desirable. * Experience with distributed computing techniques desirable.
