SVP, Business Development (Marketing Research) - $120-150K base / +$200K OTE - AtlantaDescription: The SVP Business Development will be responsible for establishing best practices and sales-related key performance indicators (KPIs), as well as setting KPI goals and measuring sales and account management staff performance against these goals. The position will work closely with Marketing to create relevant products and messaging. The successful candidate will direct sales efforts, both in terms of bringing in new accounts and expanding existing accounts, for the purpose of achieving sales goals. Work with other sales staff as well as contributing directly to sales and raising visibility in the marketplace. Reports directly to Senior Leadership, with one-two direct ponsibilities: * Develop a sales and lead generation strategy/plan to reach agreed upon overall, new business and existing accounts sales goals * Develop, implement and track performance on key sales performance-related measures * Represent values and culture to existing and prospective clients and provide a sales perspective inside the company * Coach and mentor sales and account management staff with respect to best-practices and sales strategy; participate in account team planning and accompany on sales calls as necessary * Develop and deploy lead generation plan: Identify well-qualified business opportunities and key contacts through a variety of avenues – conference attendees, industry directories, networking activities, personal industry contacts, etc. * Pursue new business leads to fulfill personal sales goal and work with account management to respond to new business inquiries * Monitor performance to ensure brand promise is being delivered * Attend and speak at industry-related conferences and other networking functions to develop new and on-going business opportunities; write articles to raise profile * Participate in New Product Development Team to provide market insight into emerging issues * Contribute to the health and profitability of the company by maintaining a year-to-date utilization rate of 5%. Utilization is defined as the percentage of billable (non-proposal) hours (based on a 40-hour work week) that are recorded to a client project. * Responsible for contributing to the ongoing success of the company by maintaining the highest possible level of client and internal customer service. This includes (but is not limited to) maintaining a high level of professional respect, following through on promises, maintaining the highest level of quality for all deliverables, and impacting the image in a positive way in every business related encounter. Requirements:Education * Bachelors Degree minimum * MBA, MMR, or PhD in related field preferredKnowledge and Experience * 10+ years marketing research (selling custom market research) experience, minimum five years’ account management - Customer Satisfaction, Loyalty and Engagement, Customer Experience, Market Segmentation, New Product Development, Brand Awareness, Qualitative/Quantitative and Ethnography * Successful, documented experience selling to and servicing Fortune 1000 companies - clients in Health Care & Pharmaceuticals, Financial Services & Insurance, Retail, Non-profits & Associations, Utilities, Oil & Gas, Technology, Manufacturing, and Travel & Leisure. * Knowledgeable and experienced in using lead generation and qualification processesSkills and Abilities Sales * Ability to develop and implement sales strategy * Ability to identify and develop new clients * Ability to manage and motivate sales and account team * Ability to problem solve and think creatively/work consultatively to address business issues through research information * Commitment to exceptional client service Communication * Ability to extract needs from prospective clients and convey ability to fulfill their needs in a compelling manner * Ability to clearly communicate expectations and provide feedback to sales and account management staff * Ability to write strategic proposals that communicate both qualitative and quantitative research expertise and unique selling proposition.
