Position Description:
CGI Federal is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Position Summary: ? The selected candidate will perform general and specific system administration and configuration of MS Server 2003/2008-based servers, XP/Windows 7-based workstations in a secure environment supporting NAVSEA programs. This Systems Engineer will support the systems integration team in the design, developing, integration, installation, and maintaining of naval administrative and training network systems. Position reports to the Engineering Manager or assigned supervisor.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: ? Implementation and Administration of a Windows 2008 R2 domain environment with heavy utilization of Hyper-V technology for server virtualization, to include domain integrated services such as Group Policy, DHCP and DNS. ? Configuration of Storage Area Network(s) primarily focused on the storage device configuration and OS configuration. ? Implementation and configuration of Windows Deployment Services for OS deployment across a network. ? Implementation and configuration of Microsoft's System Center application suite, including Operations Manager (Network Monitoring), Configuration Manager (Patch / Software Deployment), Virtual Machine Manager (VM Configuration and Administration) and Data Protection Manager (Backup / Recovery). ? Implementation, Administration, and Maintenance of Local Area Networks to include basic TCP/IP4 assignment, sub-netting, and VLANs. ? Implementation of Symantec Antivirus solutions involving Server - Client configurations. ? Configure and Manage Network Access Protection within a Windows 2008 R2 domain for access security. ? Hardware installation and configuration of NetApp network storage devices ? Hardware installation and configuration of server and switching equipment in a blade environment (ATCA blade chassis). ? Demonstrate good judgment in resolving system issues related to the Microsoft operating systems. Perform troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations and associated systems. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. ? Interface with the customer's technical engineers and project managers on server/client related issues. ? Assists in supporting information for technical manuals, internal configuration procedures and other related documentation. Individual will be expected to perform detailed documentation of all tasks performed for use in step-by-step process documentation.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in computer engineering, computer science, engineering, or related field plus minimum of 5 years related experience. High School Diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of directly related work experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: ? Ability to successfully complete the Stanley Background Investigation to include; 50 State Criminal, Education and Employment; Additionally, your ability to successfully complete a Credit and/or Driving Records Checks may be conducted if required by the contract for continued employment. ? Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance is required for continued employment; US Citizenship is required. ? Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. ? Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the software engineering field. ? Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. ? Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. ? Ability to travel up to 40%. ? Travel to various Government or customer sites for installation, integration, and troubleshooting of integrated systems.
An Active, Secret DoD Clearance will be required for this role.
