The Company is searching for a Support Engineer to join the Email Operations team in theSeattlearea. Focusing heavily on the enterprise e-mail software industry, the company builds and supports a suite of email software that powers some of the largest legitimate senders and receivers of e-mail in the world.
This role involves working with engineering and operational staff at large carriers and enterprises to operate customer e-mail systems, and answer questions that clients technical staff may have. The company's work environment is casual and they offer outstanding benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide complete remote MTA administration services including installation, configuration, maintenance, disaster recovery * Answer client configuration questions * Assist with customer integrations * SLAcompliance * Interact with the engineering team to resolve problems with the products * On-call rotation; we offer 24x7x365 priority 1(system down) support. Must be willing to be a part of a rotation to support such coverage.
All candidates MUST have the following experiences to qualify for consideration
* 1-3 years of enterprise or carrier system administration experience on Linux or Solaris * 1-3 years experience with enterprise or carrier class e-mail infrastructure * 1-3 years experience with sendmail, postfix, exim or qmail; must be able to install, configure and maintain one or more of these and other MTAs on Solaris and Linux * Thorough knowledge of SMTP * Quick and independent problem-solving ability * Attention to detail and exceptional follow-up skills * Passionate customer focus * Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills * Ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous support issues * Perl programming experience
DESIRED SKILLS:
* Shell scripting * Knowledge of POP, IMAP, LDAP, LMTP * C, C++, Java and other web-related technologies(HTTP, HTML, web servers) * RDBMS knowledge
