(U) The System Support Level 1 (entry level) candidate shall have a minimum of five (5) years of experience deploying, configuring, maintaining and monitoring computer systems and networks and performing software installations and upgrades. A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field may be substituted for four (4) years of experience. (U) The candidate shall have working knowledge of system administration support of Windows and/or Unix operating systems, TCP/IP networks, network and web security, and network communication devices (hub, switches, and routers). (U) The candidate shall have knowledge of maintaining network servers, file servers, VPN gateways, and intrusion detection systems. (U) The candidate shall have knowledge of virtualization technology. (U) The candidate shall have a basic understanding of secure systems engineering development, including system security requirements analysis, system security requirements allocation, trade-off analysis, other system security analyses, and secure system definition and specification development. (U) It is desirable for the candidate to have a certification from the Certification Lists (Appendix 4), or the industry equivalent. Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified professions (MCP), Network +, COMPTIA Security & Certification, and Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA). Required Skills
