The Tax Manager will have oversight on all regular and special matters for those clients delegated to them. This oversight includes: quality control of all work, review of workpapers, preparation of all reports, planning, supervision and control of all phases of regular client services, engagement staff supervision and maintenance of client relationships. The Manager coaches and develops team members and participates in business development activities. The Manager will spend the majority of his or her time both preparing and reviewing high net worth individual tax returns, including the associated multi-state returns and trust, estate, gift tax and private foundation returns. The balance of the time will be spent on tax research, responding to tax notices, and tax planning. The Manager will have the opportunity to assign work to several staff and senior accountants and will be in charge of supervising their work procedures and performance. Job Requirements: Successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of public accounting or related experience, along with a demonstrated record of progressively increasing knowledge, skills, responsibility and independence. Successful candidate will be technically proficient in corporate tax compliance experience. Experience working with high net worth individuals required, including both preparation and review of complex returns. Good research skills are a plus. In addition, sound written and verbal communication skills, an ability to work independently or as part of a team and the capacity to appropriately interact with all levels of Firm management and staff, clients and other external business contacts are required. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. CPA is a plus but not required. Individuals in this positions must have demonstrated computer skills and experience with accounting software is required. A valid drivers license and use of a personal vehicle is also required.
