Job Summary: 


Responsible to eliminate all causes of failure and ensure full useful life in coordination with all facility management associates to ensure maintenance needs are met, provides the required support and executes plant specific maintenance strategies to achieve the plant performance goals daily.


 


Position Responsibilities:




  • Leads activities of maintenance team members engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment.


  •  


  • Provides technical and problem solving support as required per the established Call for Service Procedure of the plant. 



  •  Provide full service support to the customer, assuring production schedules are met and all issues are resolved and communicated in a timely fashion.



  • Inspects operating machines and equipment daily as scheduled for conformance with operational standards and PM Service, with follow up on all errors found to resolve any open issues.



  • Provide guidance, maintain scheduling and distribute workload for maintenance personnel on all shifts in daily operations and reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities as required.



  • Assists maintenance manager as required in overseeing repairs and maintenance of equipment. Assigns work orders, ensuring that safety-related repairs and repairs affecting production are the highest priority. Assists maintenance associates with diagnosis and repairs, as required per the plant specifications.



  • Will be an active member of and support the company CPS/PM Pillar implementation and training of all team members as needed.



  • Will be an active member of the Newport Safety Team, with daily focus including but not limited to, use of all PPE by all team members, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits.



  • Develop and maintain Team Member accountability for all issues identified in accordance to plant policies / procedures.



  • Responsible for co-development and maintaining Preventative Maintenance Program, PMO (PM Optimization), Planning/Scheduling, etc. Driving continued development to reduce downtime and scrap and increase productivity.



  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic functions to troubleshoot, repair and maintain all primary equipment as well as associated support equipment.



  • Ensure processes meet or exceed company & Government requirements under USDA, FDA, OSHA, GMP, EPA, etc.



  • Training, directing and evaluating respective team members daily in the skills development process.





Requirements:

Ideal qualifications are:


 


 



  •   Must have 3 years related experience in the role as a maintenance supervisor


  •   Must have experience with Quality Systems such as TPM, Six (6) Sigma or Process FMEA(s)


  •   Industrial manufacturing maintenance leadership experience including project management.


  •   Minimum 2 yr. technical degree in the mechanical or electrical field.


  •   Proficient in MS software.


  •   Experience with TPM preferred.


  •   Working knowledge of SAP preferred.


  •   Prior work experience in the food industry a plus.

  •   Must be available to work any shift and weekends
