Overview:
The Lead for Content Engineering is the primary technical resource on the Content Engineering team. The Lead works very closely with the Manager of Content Engineering to define and build scalable content solutions for . The Lead collaborates with Marketing, Design, Product Management, User Experience & other development teams to design and deliver a rich experience customers expect when shopping with Macy's. In addition to developing rich, engaging content and features, the Content Integration Developer provides solutions to integrate rich content and media solutions for significant scalability.
Key Accountabilities:
Technical design and development of new projects and technology to support marketing and creative release activities.
Collaborate with the architecture team in defining and implementing packaging and optimization processes for site-wide CSS and JavaScript libraries.
Partner with the Continuous Delivery team to define and develop automated testing standards for client side content.
Mentor fellow members of the Content Engineering team on TDD and / or BDD best practices.
Development of interactive user interfaces through expert knowledge of Flash (AS), JavaScript, HTML, & CSS environment including animation, AJAX, Flash Remoting, and video.
Organize and develop integrations with internal and third party APIs and web-services for things such as social networking, functional mashups and partner integrations.
Work with other development teams to define data needs and integration of content.
Support and manage Flash and ActionScript integrations with non-multimedia pages such as homepages and sitelets.
Act as technical point for Content Engineering team to interface with NY Creative Development team for coordination on delivery of projects and designs, and planning for new executions.
Integrate analytics for custom reporting to Coremetrics using Action Script and JavaScript.
Create templates and libraries for reuse by Content Engineering team and other development teams across .
Support Content Engineers and Multimedia Engineers with creative release on occasion.
Develop and support functionality to leverage Scene7 image server capabilities including dynamic image creation, image presets and product image zoomers.
Develop and support functionality related to video display, playback, reporting and file management.
Skills Summary:
BA/BS Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Expert level developer in presentation tier of J2EE environment, including JSP/JSTL, Tiles, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Flash/ActionScript.
Strong analytical, prioritization, negotiation, and project management skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Prior professional internet work experience within a front-end development team, preferably on a large e-commerce site.
Experience in working within an Agile development environment.
Working knowledge of PC, UNIX, and Mac environments.
Experience with non-Java based delivery platforms such as Ruby on Rails or .
Strong understanding of web technology trends.
Articulate - able to communicate effectively across various functional disciplines. Proven ability to write clearly and persuasively.
Must be creative, resourceful, decisive, and resilient; all the time using good judgment and problem-solving skills.
