The Technical Specialist 2 will provide mechanical and electronic support during the proprietary equipment manufacturing process. The position will also provide service and support to the various testing activities during the manufacturing test & system checkout process. The Technical Specialist 2will be required to provide installation support during major system installations (some travel may be required).
Responsibilities Provide manufacturing support of complex component assembly, as well as initial start-up and preproduction testing (Pilot Plant – Grand Island, NY). Repair components as required to fulfill spare part requirements (repair depot). Provide on-site installation support for the effective deployment of new production systems for major installations. Expected, at times, to work side-by-side with developers to provide ongoing feed back regarding technical problems in the manufacturing process. Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Required Skills
* Mechanical aptitude necessary. * Ability to learn rapidly. * Self motivated individual that is capable of finding problems and correct them as necessary. * The ability to make effective decisions quickly.
Substantial experience in hands-on electro- mechanical assembly, troubleshooting and component level sub-assembly/testing is critical to this position. Must be able to work in a fast paced technical environment and willing to be flexible in a variety of job assignments. The candidate must be able to present themselves in a professional manner at all times and will be expected to interface with upper management. This position requires the ability to fully understand, service, and repair a complex technical system. This system includes mechanical and electronic components, electrical systems, pneumatic systems, and more. This position also requires good communication skills, which are required when dealing with internal team members including the development team. Job Location Grand Island, NY, US.
