Technical Training Specialist
GP's Baton Rouge, LA office is seeking mid level experienced professionals to develop procedures, training, technical documents and conduct technical training in industrial operations and maintenance settings located in the Baton Rouge or Gulf Coast areas. This is a full time position.
Job duties, responsibilities, and requirements include:
* Develop an understanding of all General Physics instructional programs and products from the perspective of company management, instructional theory, and General Physics? clients
* Develop and implement online and instructor led training programs specific to the company?s needs for process industry clients.
* Collaborate with team members on training strategies most suitable for the subject matter, company/client goals, and intended audience
* Develop narratives, descriptive graphics, audio scripts, and storyboards for blended training?specific to?process industry settings
* Develop operations, maintenance, and program procedures for clients to use as written and online process management solutions
* Create training assessments based on client training objectives specific to?process industry applications
* Track and evaluate training products and make improvements/revisions to training packages
* Work with subject matter experts, clients, graphic designers, and learning management system managers to identify and remedy training program issues for process industry customers.
* Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
* 2-5 years experience in a chemical, petroleum, industrial, process, or mechanical engineering related field preferred.
* Experience developing instructor led and web based training, using accepted adult education learning theory, in an industrial setting is a plus
* Experience writing instructional or technical documents and presentations? is REQUIRED
* Experience reading and analyzing piping & instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams, and other technical drawings is REQUIRED
* Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and meet deadlines
* Ability to work with and drive to completion multi-step processes
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Attentive to detail, quality-focused, flexible, and deadline-oriented
* Technologically proficient with Microsoft Office products and web applications is REQUIRED (any web-based training products and platforms is a plus)
* Availability to travel and work from domestic and international client locations approximately 25% of the time
* Ability to satisfy criminal background check requirements, current Transportation Worker Identification Credentials is a plus
Educational Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline. Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Equivalent military and work experience will be considered.
