Need
Parsons is seeking a Technical Writing Manager to support both proposal development and marketing activities associated with our transportation practice. The selected candidate will be responsible for writing- and editing-related services, including managing our team of technical writers and editors, overseeing their workload, and providing writing and editing contributions to the group's deliverables. As such, you will perform difficult and/or complex writing and editing tasks in order to prepare proposals, presentations, reports, technical papers, newsletters, websites, multimedia, marketing collateral, and other materials. You will be actively engaged in creative writing that must convey Parsons technical solutions. The ability to understand and communicate request for proposal and technical requirements/information is essential. Your outstanding ability to work with people at all levels, strong writing/editorial knowledge, management abilities, and organizational skills to meeting deadlines will be keys to your success. This position will report to our business development group manager and will be preferably based in our Chicago, IL, office. You will travel approximately 20% of your time.

Qualifications:
Requirements

• 5 years of relevant technical writing experience with engineering publications, marketing materials and proposals
• Expertise in proofreading, complex writing and editing functions, formatting and stylesheet verification, copy editing, rewriting, revising, writing, proofreading, ensuring compliance with required formats, correct use of paragraph headings and numbering, referencing of illustrative and tabular matter, and applicable bibliographic styles.
• 3 years of management experience in production planning, budgeting, conducting performance evaluations, mentoring and selecting talent.
• Demonstrated proficiency in keyboard skills and MS Windows and related software, including Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe InDesign.
• Four-year degree in English/journalism or related field (or equivalent)
