Telecommunications Technician
The Telecommunications Technician programs, installs and maintains voice technology systems including PBX and voice mail systems at numerous locations. Provides technical support on voice communication including VoIP and the integration of voice technology to support the telephony requirements. Performs and coordinates move, add, change and disconnect activities, executes system upgrades as required, performs preventative maintenance, installs cabling and resolves repair issues. Assists the Telecommunications Manager with installation, support and maintenance of cable plant infrastructure (data, voice and video), cable TV signal distribution, paging, dictation, time clocks and all other communication related technologies. Responsible for promoting teamwork with co-workers and personnel of other departments. Works collaboratively with the Information Systems Department, Clinical Departments and Sections, in addition to the Departments as necessary in problem solving issues related to telecommunications. Responsible for solving routine and non-routine problems, dealing with a variety of issues and interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. Demonstrate knowledge and judgment necessary for performing all the duties of Telecommunications Technician.
