Tooling Specialist
This non-automotive organization is looking for a tooling specialist. The company supplies product nationally and is expanding their manufacturing capability. The tooling specialist will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and work with one other tooling specialist. It will be your responsibility to monitor machine tooling; work on continuous tool improvement; maintain service and clean all hoses, hardware, bolts, plugs and inserts and reduce down time. This is a first shift position which requires working every other weekend. Qualified candidates should enjoy heavy floor presence, working in a fast paced environment, be able to handle multiple projects, be detailed and thorough, work independently and communicate successfully with all levels. Requirements for the Tooling Specialist: 1. A minimum of a high school diploma 2. Must have at least 3-5 years of tool and die experience 3. Must have your own tools 4. Must have the ability to read blueprints 5. Strong mechanical troubleshooting 6. The ability to utilize measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.) 7. Microsoft Office Package
Skills preferred but NOT required: 1. An associate’s degree or journeyman’s card 2. Any machining experience (mills, lathes, etc.) 3. Any plastics manufacturing
